"Books to Go" Homebound Outreach
Application
for Homebound Service
What is it?
The Stewart County Public Library System provides free pick-up
and delivery of library materials for Stewart County residents
who are temporarily or permanently homebound, regardless
of age. Materials are selected according to customer preferences
listed on the application form. Checked out,
delivered and picked up by a library staff person.
What services are provided?
Our library offers regular and large print books, audio
books, videos, magazines, puzzles, crossword books, games
and music.
Who does the material selecting
& delivering?
The library's staff will contact active patrons the day,
or the day before materials are due to see if items need
to be renewed, to gather any specific request for materials,
and to determine a general delivery time. This library staff
person will pick-up and deliver library materials &
take any additional requests for the next delivery time.
When does delivery happen?
Deliveries are done mainly on Wednesday. Other days may
be available if the patron is not available due to standing
medical appointments such as kidney dialysis, etc.
Each homebound patron receives once monthly pick-up &
delivery of library materials.
Materials are checked out for a four-week period and may
be renewed if necessary.
How can I get this service started?
Just fill out and sign the Homebound Delivery Service application
and return to the library or if you have further questions
please call our staff at (931) 232-3127. We will be glad
to assist you in completing the form.
